Leonard S. (Hobie) Mitchel - President, CEO & Managing Partner
Mr. Hobie Mitchel has been a residential and commercial developer in the Washington metropolitan area for over 40 years, developing over 20 thousand residential units and 14 million square feet of non-residential uses. Mr. Mitchel’s experience includes the development and redevelopment of over two thousand rental multi-family units, luxury single-family homes, age restricted communities, office, retail and hotel developments in both the Washington metro area and Florida. He is currently the CEO and President at Lansdowne Development Group. He holds a Class “A” General Contractors license in the State of Florida. Mr. Mitchel received his undergraduate degree and his MBA from George Washington University.
Associations ~ Mr. Mitchel is a Life Director of the Northern Virginia Builders Industry Association (NVBIA), a member of National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), and a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI).
Public Life ~ Mr. Mitchel is a 14-year Board of Director member of the Loudoun County Sanitation Authority, a member of the Loudoun County Economic Development Commission, a 20-year member of the Fiscal Impact Committee which determines impact fee calculations, and a Member of the Loudoun County Housing Advisory Board.
Additionally, Mr. Mitchell served 10 years on the Loudoun County Affordable Dwelling Unit Advisory Board (ADUAB), 6 years on the Virginia Housing and Community Development Board (three as its Chairman), was a member of the Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority, was a member of the Virginia Governors Commission on Transportation (two 4-year terms), and was an At-Large “Urban” member of the Virginia Commonwealth Transportation Board (for 7 years).
Awards ~ Mr. Mitchel has received the following awards: Presidential Award, NVBIA; Lord Fairfax Honoree (Fairfax County, Virginia); Wright Memorial Award in Transportation (State of Virginia); Presidential Lifetime Achievement from Dulles Transportation Association; Loudoun County Leonard S. (Hobie) Mitchel Day in Service Achievement; and Eagle Scout.
Robert A. Hickey - General Counsel
Robert A. Hickey serves as a Manager of Lansdowne Development Group and as General Counsel. In addition to his duties at Lansdowne Development Group, Mr. Hickey also serves as General Counsel of Bowman Consulting Group, Ltd, a 300 person engineering, planning, surveying, and environmental consulting firm headquartered in Chantilly, Virginia. Mr. Hickey has served in this capacity with Bowman Consulting Group since 2003. Prior to joining Bowman Consulting Group, Mr. Hickey was a Senior Vice President at Bank of America and practiced law for twenty years, both in a prominent local firm and in a large national law firm. He has also served in many leadership roles for a number of community and charitable organizations, and he is currently a Director of the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia. Mr. Hickey received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Virginia.
Richard Lanham - Vice President – Development & Planning
Mr. Lanham serves as Vice President of Community Planning and Development for Lansdowne Development Group where he is involved in the future planning of our residential and mixed-use developments. Prior to Lansdowne, Mr. Lanham was a Vice President at Kettler, Inc., where he spent 14 years managing all aspects of residential and mixed-use developments across Northern Virginia and Maryland. Prior to that, Mr. Lanham was a Planner with Loudoun County, Virginia.
Mr. Lanham is a member of the Northern Virginia Building Industry Association (NVBIA), the National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB), and the Urban Land Institute (ULI).
Mr. Lanham received his Bachelor of Science in Urban Planning and Master of Arts in Geography and Urban Planning from East Carolina University.
Greg Bowman - Vice President – Operations
Mr. Greg Bowman serves as Vice President of Operations at Lansdowne Development Group. Mr. Bowman’s responsibilities include managing internal operations of all active and future projects. He is also responsible for project tracking, project closings, and financial
management functions. Mr. Bowman manages Banking and Investor relationships and controls.
Mr. Bowman is a member of Northern Virginia Building Industry Association (NVBIA) and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). Mr. Bowman received his Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership from Virginia Tech.
Larry Beerman - Vice President of Land Acquisitions
Larry Beerman serves as Vice President of Land Acquisitions for Lansdowne Development Group where he identifies strategic properties and opportunities. He is also responsible for identifying strategic properties that may require local rezoning or entitlement.
Mr. Beerman represented the Dulles District on the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors (1996-1999) as well as the Planning Commission (2004-2006) where he served two years as Chairman. Mr. Beerman also served over 10 years on the Inova Loudoun Hospital Board of Directors (2001-2011). He is a member of the Northern Virginia Building Industry Association (NVBIA) and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).
A native Washingtonian, Mr. Beerman received his Bachelor of Science in Public Administration from George Mason University. He is a licensed real estate agent.
William F. Ostrander - Executive Vice President
Mr. Bill Ostrander serves as Executive Vice President at Lansdowne Development Group. Mr. Ostrander brings over 40 years of experience in real estate development and
homebuilding across the Washington, D.C. metro area.
Prior to joining Lansdowne Development Group, Mr. Ostrander was Division President at two top-ten national homebuilders (Richmond American Homes and K. Hovnanian Homes). He has held executive management positions with five homebuilders and he served as a partner of a large engineering consulting firm. He has a complete knowledge
in all aspects of homebuilding and real estate development including land acquisition, due diligence, entitlements, site development, product development, and the marketing, sales and construction of new home communities.
Mr. Ostrander is a Life Member of the NVBIA Board of Directors, he served as Fairfax Chapter President and on the Executive Committee, he received two Presidential Awards, he is a member and Chairman of the Regional Technical Advisory Committee, and he was a member of the Regional Legislative Committee.
Mr. Ostrander graduated from University of Virginia, School of Architecture with a Bachelor of City Planning. He also attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University with a Graduate Studies focus on Urban & Regional Planning.
Tim Kissler - Vice President - Equity Investments
Mr. Tim Kissler serves as Vice President of Equity Investments at Lansdowne Development Group. Mr. Kissler brings over 30 years of experience managing the development and construction of $750 million in real estate development projects, consistently completing projects profitably, on-time and within budget.
Prior to joining Lansdowne Development Group, Mr. Kissler worked with several developers- to include The John Akridge Companies, Albert H. Halff Associates, Inc., CastleRock Partners and Global Development Partners. Mr. Kissler is a licensed professional engineer with the state of Illinois, and a licensed real estate sales professional, in the states of Minnesota and Maryland.
Mr. Kissler graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Land Development Engineering.
William Barron - Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Bill Barron serves as Chief Financial Officer at Lansdowne Development Group. Mr. Barron brings over 30 years of diversified experience with a proven record of driving financial results via revenue growth and cost management. He has repeated success with mergers and acquisitions followed by effective integration. Mr. Barron also has public accounting experience, including Big 4.
Prior to joining Lansdowne Development Group, Mr. Barron worked as the CFO with a New Jersey based, multi-disciplined engineering firm, 25% of which consisted of land and marine development. Prior to that, he served in a number of professional capacities with Maronda Homes, Redevelopment Materials, Home Capital Network, K. Hovnanian Enterprises, Inc., and PNS Realty Partners, LP.
Mr. Barron graduated from University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Business Administration - Major in Accountancy. Mr. Barron is a Certified Public Accountant.
Erin K. Walker - Executive Assistant to CEO & Operations Manager
Ms. Erin Walker serves as Executive Assistant to CEO & Operations Manager for Lansdowne Development Group. Ms. Walker is responsible for working closely with Mr. Leonard S. (Hobie) Mitchel, CEO & President, on all executive tasks. She is also responsible for working cohesively with the Lansdowne Development Group executive team on project tasks including accounting/finance, contracts, project deadlines, project meetings, and interacting with customers, clients and investors.
Prior to Lansdowne, Mr. Walker was the Payroll/Office Manager for a number of corporations including MCW Solutions, KT Irrigation and KT Enterprises. Earlier in her career, she served as the Payroll/HR Supervisor for Brothers Concrete Construction and Covanta Energy Corporation.
Ms. Walker attended Ridely, Lowell Business and Tech Institute and received her Diploma in Travel/Tourism.

Mr. Gary Bowman, Chairman and President, Bowman Consulting Group
Mr. Bowman is Bowman Consulting Group’s Founder leading the organization's evolution from a small civil engineering office to a three hundred person multi-discipline design and consulting firm with fourteen offices throughout the U.S. Mr. Bowman is a civil engineer and entrepreneur who is passionate about growth, quality, and bringing together talented professionals to work together as a team.
Mr. Robert Hickey, CFO & General Counsel, Lansdowne Development Group and Bowman Consulting Group
Mr. Hickey serves as a Manager of Lansdowne Development Group and as its Chief Financial Officer and General Counsel. In addition, he also serves as Chief Financial Officer and General Counsel of Bowman Consulting Group, Ltd, a 200 person engineering, planning, surveying, and environmental consulting firm.
Ms. Laurie Matthews, Principal, Laurie Matthews Marketing
Ms. Laurie Matthews is Principal of Laurie Matthews Marketing, a marketing firm located in Chevy Chase, Maryland. She also serves as Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Lansdowne Development Group where she promotes Lansdowne Development Group communities through brand alignment, product development and positioning, public relations, creative development, and event planning. Ms. Matthews assists with market research and she is actively involved in the development and management of Community Homeowner Associations from the developer’s side.
Ms. Matthews began her real estate career 20 years ago with Charles E. Smith Companies (Now Archstone-Smith) in business development. In addition to Charles E. Smith, she served in a number of professional capacities with developers and builders in the Washington metropolitan area - to include Trafalgar House - South Riding, Lansdowne Development Group and Van Metre Companies.
Ms. Matthews is a member of Northern Virginia Builders Industry Association (NVBIA), Sales and Marketing Council, Woman in Real Estate Marketing (WIRM), and National Association of Professional Woman. She also serves as the GALA Program Chairperson for NVBIA/MNCBIA Annual GALA Awards.
Ms. Matthews received her Bachelor of Science in Marketing/Communications with a minor in Psychology from the University of Maryland. She received her MIRM designation (Member, Institute of Residential Marketing) and continues coursework in sales and marketing strategies.
